Plot Outline:
Television producer Karen Webber has built her fast-track career on her ability to turn ordinary everyday reality into something ever better: top-rated prime-time TV. And that’s exactly what top-dog studio executive Lew Constant needs. XCU was Lew’s pet show. When this show debuted it was a show about young people discovering life. But the ratings are sliding dangerously and Lew’s ready to double Karen’s current salary if she can come up with a way to give the fourth, make-or-break season of XCU a newer, sharper edge. Karen accepts the challenge, but what Karen didn’t count on was the freak accident (or was it an accident?) that claims the life of the cast member from Amsterdam! One death might make good ratings sense, but the behind-the-scenes reality that seems to be stalking XCU soon proves to be more than even a slick producer like Karen can control. And what Karen, crew, and her cast of instant celebrities can’t possibly anticipate is just how extreme their show is about to become.
